This stuff drives me nuts (first video). Does it really take guts to interupt a large gathering by yelling? With every person I have ever spoken to who is now out, I have yet to hear one single story that starts with...."this guys at the convention yelled something that really made me think".
Instead it feeds the narrative of the fire breathing apostate that they are told to beware of, and that is proof of Satans unique persecution against them. Bravo you moron! You have just entrenched the faith of thousands of JW's even more, while essentially engaging in therapy for your own scars, and coming off exactly like they want you too. If the branch was smart they would get some actors to do this at every convention. It would really be good in continuing the fear narrative.
Drives me nuts.

Jan 2016 study WT attempt to keep control of professed anointed ones, brainwashing in action!
by EndofMysteries ina really great example of wt pulling doctrine out of their heiney that nowhere exists in the scriptures!
when i started waking up to ttatt, i remember in my own reading the tons of scriptures that speak of god, the holy spirit, etc teaching directly.
tons of scriptures that go against the wt doctrine of only able to learn through them.

Playing devils advocate here however, wouldn't the scripture be referring to those already anointed? In other words, the scripture is saying that the anointed don't need to be taught. that wouldn't apply then to the non anointed then in their eyes yes? -

The Iron Fist in the Velvet Glove
by Lee Elder inthe watchtower and jehovah's witnesses are fond of saying there are no automatic sanctions for taking blood.
that they no longer disfellowship someone who takes blood.
that they have a "free choice" in the matter.

Personal responsibility is great. I'm all for it.
Convincing someone to not accept available medical treatment through horrifically implausible scriptural justification, and then enforcing that belief through a communal shunning program......is not the same thing as being responsible for your own decisions.
Smart people do dumb things all the time. Haven't you watched the political debates in the US?

I should clarify. I wonder what the vague attempt at scriptural justification would be. :) -

The very definition of obfuscation and semantics.
Ask ANY JW out there if someone who willfully accepted a blood transfusion could remain a JW and the answer would be patently obvious to them. In the land of double talk however, some has "disassociated themselves" when they decide to do this particular act, but not the other things considered sins.
I wonder what the explanation for this designation would be scripturally speaking?

My Mother Died Two Weeks Ago
by Perry innone of my jehovah's witness relatives called to tell me or my family.
just found out this morning.

Perry I am sorry for the loss of your mother. I am sure your faith gives you comfort, but it still always stings when the JW family slips into full shun mode.....even in such times.
Probably angering. Try to remember that they are in a cult.

Great comments everyone. I appreciate it. Everyones experience and coping (or lack thereof), is very interesting and different. But you can almost break up into two groups. One group is very matter of fact and accepting, the other sad/depressed/ or battling those thoughts as I described.
I wonder what that is, if it isn't just aspects of our personality.
I'm sure I'll struggle with this for a while. I had children late (they are very small still), and while I enjoy them, i will be old when they become their own men. That is sad to me. I would love to see my family grow, affect future generations, and the thought if being non existent is still a bit paralyzing. I'm sure I'll cope and find the right place to put it. Its still a basically new thought. I just hadn't ever perhaps reached down and figured out why it was there.
